The poetry of content strategy
Do you know a poet who can write about chaos theory? Of course I didn’t. But I found one, and Inua Ellams lined a Jigsaw coat with an original poem. When Jigsaw’s CEO hired me as Editor-in-Chief, he had a clear vision: to hire a journalist. With an editorial approach, I created and directed a content strategy with a distinct tone of voice; I found and told stories across a range of platforms to engage with its intelligent, smart and informed customers.

I launched Style & Truth, a print and digital magazine featuring interviews with actors from Phoebe Waller-Bridge to Vanessa Redgrave, playwrights and poets. I also commissioned original short stories.
Style & Truth expanded Jigsaw’s reach beyond fashion and created opportunities for the brand to reach new customers: we held live events in stores, including a reading with author Yomi Adegoke and a live broadcast by podcaster Emma Gannon.
I also wrote and managed award-winning manifestos (notably for Black Friday) and campaigns, including “Heart Immigration”, a project that reached 50 million people on social media with engagement from London mayor Sadiq Khan.
